Are you doing a mission trip with your students this summer? If so, I have a great free resource to share with you from LeaderTreks. One of the most important things a student pastor can do is connect parents to what they are doing in their ministry. This is a helpful tool that helps student pastors connect the parents to what their student is doing before, during, and after the mission trip.
This is what LeaderTreks says about this resource, “In Helping Parents Connect, Doug Franklin outlines how parents can be involved in their students’ mission trips before, during, and after the trip. This tool is designed to get you involved from the beginning and to help you grow with your kids through this experience.”
I am taking our high school students on a mission trip this summer and I have downloaded this ebook in hopes to connect my parents to this trip. I’d encourage you to download it and check it out for yourself. What do you have to loose, it’s free!
One of the things I am always trying to learn more about in student ministry is mentoring. Beyond all the games, events, and music, we as God’s servants in student ministry are called to mentor students. It’s our task to model and help them grow in their walk with Jesus. We see this in Scripture in 2 Timothy 2:2 when Paul says this to Timothy: “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” There are many ways we can mentor students, but we need to make sure we are using a strategic model that is effective and actually working. That is where this free ebook comes in! Student Driven Mentoring is a free ebook from LeaderTreks that will help you mentor your students more effectively. Here is a short description of this ebook from LeaderTreks.
In Student Driven Mentoring, Doug Franklin takes a fresh look at what’s working and what’s not when it comes to mentoring. Students have to want to be mentored for it to really work. Doug explores the motivations students have for being mentored and helps you build a program around those motives so that students will be all-in with their mentors. This book also offers a lot of great tips for adult mentors on how to dig deep into students’ lives.
I have downloaded this ebook myself and would encourage student pastors and volunteers to check it out. All you have to do is click the link below and fill out a few things on LeaderTrek’s website and the ebook is all yours, for FREE!
